For over a decade, there was Kilgray and memoQ - two brands, one company. Kilgray has been the older brand and has had the richer legacy − the legacy of foundation and startup − but for many years now, memoQ has been far wider in use, both internally and externally.
memoQ has been the naming scheme of the flagship product and the entire ecosystem of products and services around it. Kilgray had been the name of the company that won the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award three times.
2018 marks our 14th year in business, yet we feel like we’re just getting started. For our first 14 years, we were called Kilgray Translation Technologies. This year, we are changing our name to memoQ Translation Technologies to reflect our focus on our most popular product - memoQ.
Cherishing the Past, Embracing the Future
Changes do not happen overnight; it will take time to leave the Kilgray name behind us. Kilgray is where it all started, and we want to embrace the change by celebrating the past. We are on the eve of our 14th anniversary, and a lot has happened over these years, mainly, the fast-growing startup has become an established brand in the translation technology world. We are fully conscious that everything we have achieved is part of the big story of our brand and the people that contributed to making it great.
