We at Kilgray feel strongly that students studying translation and translation technology should have access to state of the art software.
Learning how to use software such as memoQ is a crucial part of learning to become a translator or project manager. We offer our software free to Universities and third level educational establishment as long as it is used for educational purposes.

The main provision of the Kilgray Academic Programme is that it gives the Institution the right to use an unlimited number of memoQ licenses for educational purposes, free of charge. This includes the memoQ Server and ELM (Enterprise License Management). The programme is confined to translator training only and can cover any translation, engineering, science or arts course. The institution can give licenses to teachers and students for (educational) home use for up to one year at a time.

Support and Installation are not free as part of the programme. If the Institution decides to use memoQ Server we will charge a fee of €150 for installing the server version. If you are not using the server version there is no need for assistance in the installation process. Support is charged at €100 per month up to 4 hours. If the Institution wants more than 4 a fee of €50/hour is charged for the excess hours.

There is no obligation to avail of these and most of our University partners do not pay for support or installation. You can also avail of the free support outlined in the section Kilgray Resources below.

The institution has no obligations other than announcing the sponsorship of Kilgray/memoQ on their website and allowing Kilgray to use the name of the Institution on our website or when we are talking about the programme. We would appreciate any support given by the Institution in promoting Kilgray and its technology and any feedback that leads to improvements in our technology or the programme.

There is also a very attractive student discount for students who are currently on a course using memoQ or who have recently graduated.
