Introducing Katalin Dunay, Driving Customer Success at memoQ's DACH Hub

As part of our Sales Hubs introduction series, we interviewed Katalin Dunay, Customer Success Manager of the DACH Hub at memoQ. Katalin shared insights into her role, her approach to customer relationships, what excites her most about working at memoQ, and a few things you might not know about her outside the office.

Hi Katalin, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hi, I'm Katalin Dunay. I've been working in the translation industry for a little over 20 years now, and during that time, I've had the chance to work as a translator, terminologist, trainer, and production manager. I speak Hungarian, German, English, and Portuguese, and I’m currently based in Budapest, where I live with my husband and our two sons.

When and why did you join memoQ?

I joined memoQ in 2022. After many years in the industry, memoQ had always been on my radar – not only for its powerful technology, but also for its reputation as a collaborative and customer-focused company. I was attracted by the opportunity to work more closely with customers, helping them succeed with a tool I truly believe in.

What does your current position entail?

As a Customer Success Manager, my role is to build strong, lasting relationships with our customers and help them get the most out of memoQ in a way that fits their specific workflows and business goals. This includes advising on licensing, helping to improve processes, organizing training, following up regularly, and sometimes just being available to talk through a question. I work closely with our Solution and Support Engineers, whose technical expertise is essential to delivering the best results.

What do you enjoy most about your position?

It feels good to help a customer find a new feature or solution that improves their workflow. I also like the variety in my job. Every customer is unique, and each day brings new questions, new insights, and new opportunities to learn. The role is both people and solution-focused, which makes it a good fit for me.

What do you like most about the translation industry?

It's a field that connects people and cultures, which I find meaningful. I appreciate the mix of human creativity and technological innovation. It's an industry that never really stands still, and there's always something new to learn.

How would you describe the memoQ team?

Everyone here is not only very knowledgeable but also really supportive, open-minded, and passionate about what they do. I’m happy to be part of this team.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy spending time in nature, especially hiking in the mountains with friends and family. I also like exploring the city on foot, often with my camera in hand, capturing the little details that usually go unnoticed. I also listen to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks, especially on long walks. It's my way of staying inspired or just relaxing.
