As part of our Sales Hubs introduction series, we interviewed Yeter Türk, Business Development Manager at memoQ. She shared how her passion for languages and cultures led her to the translation industry, what she enjoys most about working with clients, and why joining memoQ felt like coming home.
Hi Yeter, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Hi, I'm Yeter. With a multicultural background and international life experience, I've always been fascinated by languages and cultures. This passion led me to study Translation and Cultural Studies. I began my career working at a language service provider specializing in medical and pharmaceutical content before transitioning into the world of AI-driven language technology and content creation.
When and why did you join memoQ?
Before officially joining the team, I had the pleasure of representing memoQ for several years at a former company. During that time, I developed a deep appreciation for the company’s mission and its strong commitment to empowering language professionals with cutting-edge tools. Joining the team felt like a natural next step and a welcome homecoming.
What does your current position entail?
I'm currently serving as a Business Development Manager (BDM), where I focus on building meaningful relationships with potential clients and helping them discover the most suitable solutions for their unique needs.
What do you enjoy most about your position?
Definitely the interaction with the clients. I love understanding their challenges and collaborating to find solutions that truly make a difference. Seeing the impact of our tools on their workflows is incredibly rewarding.
What do you like most about the translation industry?
Having lived my whole life navigating different worlds, I’ve often found myself in the role of a translator between languages, cultures, and perspectives. That’s why I’m drawn to this vibrant, ever-evolving field at the crossroads of language, culture, and technology. I deeply admire how it brings people together and enables communication across borders - there’s something profoundly human about that.
How would you describe the memoQ team?
Talented, kind, and incredibly supportive. It’s a group of people who care deeply, not just about the work, but also about one another. There's a strong sense of collaboration and respect that makes it a joy to be part of.
What are your hobbies?Spending time with my family is at the top of the list. I also enjoy traveling, hiking in nature, and baking - it’s my favourite way to unwind and express creativity.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Just that I’m grateful to be part of an industry that constantly inspires me. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, connect, and grow - and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
