It is refreshing to note that after ten years in business we have kept with certain principles which have been important to us since the beginning. In every new release, we tried to add value for translation teams and companies, other companies and translators. I think we have succeeded in this with memoQ 2014. We have also tried since the beginning to keep an eye on the detail. Simplicity is also something which is very important to us. As the software became more powerful, complexity crept in but with the release of memoQ 2014 and now memoQ 2014 R2 great work has been done in making complex functionality much simpler and intuitive to use.
Lexie has made a video in which she shows what is new in memoQ 2014 R2. This includes the following:
- The ribbon - The ribbon is not only an attractive new approach to the menu, it has also ensured a less cluttered interface amd better workflow.
- Web based project management - memoQ 2014 R2 allows the creation and management of projects through a web browser.
- Sharing translation memories and termbases - Translation memories (TMs) and termbases (TBs) can be created on Language Terminal (www.languageterminal.com).
- Translation memory editor - With memoQ 2014 R2 we have dramatically improved the Translation memory editor, its interface and its usefulness.
- User-friendly segmentation rules editor – The segmentation rules editor is more user-friendly segmentation rules editor. Here you can list Abbreviations, Proper names etc.
