A new build of memoQ is available with some bug fixes and improvements. (This is an "official" release, the release candidate period is over.)

memoQ server 4.5.67 installer

Full memoQ server 4.5.67 installer (contains SQL Server Express)

Important: The server installer was recently upgraded to support SQL Server 2008. Because of the significant changes, be sure to back up your database before running the installer for extra safety. Before upgrading your server from version 4.2, please e-mail us to make sure your 4.5 license is ready.

If you are upgrading from the last "official" release (version 4.5.29), please read this posting for information about the new features.

Notable fixes and enhancements since build 4.5.66:

  • Fixes to problems with the Office spellchecker. (Note that there is a special case when the Office spellchecker isn't available in memoQ. If you have Office 2007 or 2010 installed, and the default editing language in your Microsoft Word language options is set to a language for which proofing tools are not installed, then memoQ will not be able to use the Office spellchecker. The problem is apparently in Microsoft Office, not memoQ, but memoQ identifies this problem and displays a message about this.)
  • Several important fixes to the IDML filter. Import or export failed or was incomplete for some files, some formatting could "change" in memoQ, and in some cases, the order of the segments in memoQ was different from the order of the pages in the original document.
  • In the "table RTF" export, the translation is now marked with the target language, so spellchecking it in Word should be easier.
  • The list of languages next to the LiveDocs corpus was not updated with languages added.
  • Using the "Automatic insertion until Go To Next conditions are met" feature could cause an error in some cases
  • For copora that were "pinned", the pin could disappear.
  • Trying to run QA from a filtered document resulted in an error.
  • Fixes to problems regarding handoff creation

memoQ server related fixes:

  • Concordancing requests from older builds of memoQ could cause crashes in memoQ server. Fixed.
  • Opening a project for management and adding a document could cause LiveDocs corpora to be removed form the project
  • Uppercase/lowercase differences between the username known by memoQ server and the username supplied for memoQ could cause problems.
  • The "remove TM from server" function has been restored
  • Errors and warnings are now synchronized with the server, in both "live" and "desktop" documents. This makes "collaborative QA" possible.
