On April 22, memoQ Day is being organised at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Portugal.
The Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Portugal has a translator in residence programme which involves Kevin Lossner, translator and author of memoQ in quick steps. On April 22 they are organising their first memoQ Day. Their intention is to have “a user-centric event for university teaching and professional practice”.
This event is open for translation professionals who work as freelance translators or in translation or other companies. It is also aimed at academics and students involved in translator education.
They have a user centric programme which includes:
- Getting more from LiveDocs!
- Learning resources for memoQ
- Authoring and editing in memoQ
- The state of affairs for memoQ at Portuguese universities and elsewhere
- Speech recognition in many languages, including Portuguese!
- Using memoQ on Macs
- Kilgray's academic programs and policies
- SDL Trados resources in memoQ and interoperability & more (TBA)
The costs of the event are:
- free to students at Portuguese universities and faculty of Universidade Nova de Lisboa who provide a scanned copy of their current university ID with the application e-mail (pre-registration by e-mail only).
- €30 to all university faculty (with scanned university ID copy) and residents of Portugal (with pre-registration)
- €50 to others with pre-registration or to Portuguese residents and university faculty who have not pre-registered
- €100 to others (not residing in Portugal) without pre-registration
