This is the first of a series of posts on the new Language Terminal which will be released in the coming weeks.
Kilgray will soon be releasing a new version of Language Terminal. This is a major overhaul of the previous version. Over the next few weeks we will have more blog posts on specific functionality within the new language Terminal. In this post I will describe the main changes in the new Language Terminal and explain what will happen with the release.

We have organized a webinar on the new Language Terminal for users of the current one. This will be held next Tuesday at 5PM CET. You can register for the webinar here. We will record this session and make it available after the meeting for those who cannot attend.
We have put together an FAQ based on questions users asked us about the release. Over the course of the next few months we will be hosting a number of mini webinars and will publish information on these.
Tracking your translation jobs
The new Language Terminal will offer very robust job quoting and job tracking functionality. Initially this functionality is aimed at translators. If you use this functionality you should already have been contacted by us. I would like to remind all users that existing project data and quotes will not be migrated from the old Language Terminal to the new one. This specifically refers to the data stored under projects in Language Terminal. The documents, TMs and other resources associated with your memoQ projects are stored through memoQ and not Language Terminal
Sharing TMS, term bases and other resources
The new Language Terminal will continue to offer you the ability to share your TMs, term bases and memoQ resources. If you have resources shared on the old Language Terminal they will be migrated to the new one.
Kilgray have written a plugin for SDL Trados Studio which allows a Trados user to access a TM on Language Terminal or memoQ server. This will be released at around the same time as Language Terminal and will be available through SDL’s Open Exchange portal.
Project backup/ restore
You will still be able to back up your memoQ projects to Language Terminal and use this as an archive. Any project which you have backed up on the old Language Terminal will be migrated to the new one.
Finding translators/ customers
In the old Language Terminal a customer can search for a translator. We have temporarily removed the translator directory in the new release of Language Terminal.
