At the core of memoQ is a desire to let you make the most productive use of your time. Project Templates and workflow automation is a great example of something which does exactly that.
Whether you are a project manager or a translator, there are a lot of project creation steps and other tasks which can be automated. Project Templates can also ensure that you adhere to a naming convention for project and resource names, making everything easier to find and re-use.
We have recently published an eBook on project templates. This was written with project managers in mind and focusses on automating memoQ projects. I would recommend reading this and viewing the recent webinar where Angelika Zerfass presents on workflow automation.
Since we introduced Project Templates we have had some interesting and useful suggestions from customers on how we can improve it. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to share their ideas with us. In memoQ 8.2 we have introduced functionality based on this feedback to allow project managers to assign projects automatically to a subvendor.
What is a subvendor?
A subvendor is a memoQ role where the person receives work for their organisation rather than for themselves. This might be an enterprise or a large translation company assigning work to a smaller translation company. The smaller translation company would be the subvendor and one of the people who work there will be assigned as the manager of the subvendor group in memoQ. The subvendor can be assigned one or multiple tasks.

If the project manager creates a project with this Project Template, the subvendor will be assigned their part of the project automatically.
